Thrift Like a Boss

#1: Before you start thrifting, look through your closet and note what pieces you are missing so when you’re thrifting you can be inspired to pick up items that will match those items.

#2: Google is your friend. Before you step out that door search for local thrift stores in your area. Goodwill and Salvation Army are two great stores to start your thrifting journey. #3:  If you don’t know what to look for when thrifting browsing mainstream brands like Forever 21, H&M and Zara will help you get an idea of the top trends to look for.

#4: How do you know what to pay for thrifted items? Using Poshmark, ThredUp, and eBay to search for the average prices of vintage brands will help you not overpay for your vintage finds. Image result for thrift store

#5: Thrifting may take up your whole day so don’t forget to pack your thrifting travel bag. You will need tissues, hand sanitizer stain remover, snacks, and water.

#6: To not overspend be sure to create a thrifting budget. You can start off with a small limit of $20 per store. This will assure you to take home pieces you’re in love with.

#7: Thrifting is time-consuming so having your headphones handy will keep your thrifting experience upbeat when listening to your favorite playlist!

#8: if you’re shopping for yourself wear fitted clothing so you can try on clothing in the aisle without having to wait in line for a fitting room.

#9: Always create a yes, no and a maybe pile. Evaluate your goods and trust your guts and put all of your “nos” back and decide which “maybes” are truly keepers!

#10: Before you head to the cash register double check your garments for stains, tears, snags, and any signs of damage. You don’t want to get home and realize you purchased a damaged garment.
